ABSC GSC Spring Hobbie Series
The Animal Biosciences Graduate Student Council invites you to participate in a FREE Spring Hobbie Series. This event will consist of three guided workshops, each building off the last activity. However, you may choose to attend only the ones that interest you!

Welcome Stephanie Kears!
ABSc would like to extend a warm welcome to Stephanie Kears, our newest staff colleague in the admin team. Stephanie graduated at the University of Waterloo and had a number of very successful co-op terms, including some in an university environment at UofWaterloo. She also worked outside the university. With the experience and skills that she has accumulated in her previous roles, with her positive attitude, initiative and very good work ethics, she will be a great addition to our team.

Graduate Student Renee Garant Places 2nd at OE3C 2021
Congratulations to MSc and CCSAW student Renee Garant who placed 2nd out of 48 research talks at the 2021 Ontario Ecology, Ethology, and Evolution Colloquium (OE3C).

EDI Committee and Department Survey
The Department of Animal Biosciences has recently established an EDI Committee to enhance the quality of the working and educational environments in our unit. Dr. Kate Shoveller Featured in Toronto Star
Dr. Kate Shoveller, a leading animal nutrionist and Associate Professor in ABSc, was recently featured in the Toronto Star where she provided some insight on the growing trend of individualized pet diets.

Success at Virtual Dairy Challenge Competition!
Congratulations to UofG's Dairy Challenge team that competed in the 2021 North American Intercollegiate VIRTUAL Dairy Challenge this past week. Our team did us proud with a first-place finish!
The UofG team included students Rebecca Barr, Brooke Boonstoppel, Clayton McWilliams, and Tyrone Wagler (pictured on the left).
