Webinar:Transition Cow Trifecta - Health, Nutrition, and Reproduction
Dairy at Guelph-The Centre for Dairy Research and Innovation, recently held a webinar on transition cow management: Health, nutrition and reproduction. Presentations and Q & A included ABSc faculty members Trevor DeVries and Eduardo Ribeiro as well as Stephen Leblanc from Population Medicine at OVC.
New Meat Science Lab Manager
ABSc would like to welcome Gino Giansante as the new Manger of the meat science laboratory. Gino’s first experience in the meat industry goes back to his days as a student working summer's with his father in a small abattoir. Gino brings over 20 years of experience in the food processing industry, including plant management, operations, people leadership and financial expertise. For the past few years, Gino was a Senior Processing Manager at Maple Lodge Farms, and before that he was a Production Manager and Logistics Manager at Olivieri Foods.

The Resilient Dairy Genome Project (RDGP) is a Large-Scale Applied Research Project funded by Genome Canada. The overall aim of the project is to enhance Canadian dairy industry sustainability by integrating genomic approaches to improve dairy cattle resilience.
