EDI Committee and Department Survey

Posted on Monday, May 17th, 2021

The Department of Animal Biosciences  has recently established an EDI Committee to enhance the quality of the working and educational environments in our unit.  You can see some of the things we are doing in the new EDI section on our website: https://animalbiosciences.uoguelph.ca/about-us/equity-diversity-and-inclusion-committee

We believe that equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) efforts should be designed with feedback from ALL departmental members.  You have an important voice that is needed for our EDI work to be successful.  To that end, we have partnered with a private consultant to help guide our EDI work.  To launch our efforts, we are conducting a short survey to learn about your unique experiences with EDI, and what initiatives you want to see the Department of Animal Biosciences invest in.

Your responses will help us make purposeful improvements to existing efforts and prioritize our future work.  The survey will take 10-15 minutes and your responses will be kept anonymous.

Please check your email for the link and code to access the survey, and note that both are case sensitive. It would be appreciated if you can complete the survey by next Friday, May 28.

Please note that absolutely NO INDIVIDUAL results will be collected or released, and only aggregate information will be used to help guide our activities.  ALL submissions are completely anonymous, with no identifiers collected that can be attributed to any individual person.  So your identity is unknown when you fill out the survey.

Please take the time to take part in this important exercise.  The more feedback we get from everyone, the better we can tailor our programs and identify challenges that need to be addressed.

Be part of the solution !

Best to all,

Rich Moccia and Jenn Ellis
