Faculty Position in Meat Science/Muscle Biology

The  Department of Animal Biosciences invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty position (12 months per year) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Meat Science/Muscle Biology. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Animal Science, Meat Science, Muscle Biology, or a closely related field with a focus on red meat species. Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral experience who can demonstrate clear potential for excellence in research and teaching.

Student and Faculty Success at ASAS-CSAS 2019

Animal Biosciences was well represented at the recent American Society of Animal Science and Canadian Society of Animal Science (ASAS-CSAS) Annual Meeting and Trade Show, held July 8-11 in Austin, Texas. This year’s event included symposia on diverse themes such as cell biology, meat science and muscle biology, beef and horse species, non-ruminant nutrition, breeding and genetics, companion animals, immunometabolisim and animal behaviour and well-being.

Prof. Trevor DeVries and students awarded at American Dairy Science Association Annual Meeting

ABSc Prof. Trevor DeVries was one of eight people inducted into the Journal of Dairy Science Club 100-Class of 2019 at the American Dairy Science Association Annual Meeting held June 23-26 in Cincinatti, OH. The JDS Club 100 was created in 2017 to recognize those that have authored or co-authored more than 100 articles in the Journal of Dairy Science in their careers.
