Dr. Hakimeh Emamgholi Begli, a Post-Doctoral Fellow in CGIL will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, November 8th. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building.

Prof. Kate Shoveller's research group is hosting  Kari Ekenstedt, DVM, PhD from Purdue University for a seminar on November 4th. Her talk is entitled "From Tracing Coat Colours to Solving Diseases: What we Do in the Purdue Canine Genetics Laboratory".    

Dairy Nutrition Symposium

Dr. Mike Steele has organized a Dairy Nutrition Symposium on Friday, November 1st from 3:00-4:30pm in ANNU 141. There will be two presentations featuring: Dr. Morteza Hosseini Ghaffari, University of Bonn: “Metabolomics meets machine learning: Metabolite profiling of transition cows” Juliette Wilms, Trouw Nutrition R&D: “Nutritional strategies to support recovery of diarrheic calves”

CGIL Seminar: "Challenges and Opportunities of the Dairy Goat Industry"

Dr. Marlene Paibomesai, a Dairy Specialist at the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, November 1st. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building.

Animal Behaviour and Welfare Seminar

Jamie Ahloy Dallaire is Assistant Professor of livestock behaviour and welfare in the Department of Animal Science at Université Laval in Quebec City. During his postdoc in the Department of Comparative Medicine at Stanford University, he worked toward improving laboratory animal welfare and the validity of biomedical animal research. He will be discussing recent projects on aggression and related injuries in group-housed male mice, one of the most prevalent and serious issues affecting the health and welfare of this species.
