Isabelle Kwon is a student veterinarian at the Ontario Veterinary College who completed her B.Sc. in Bio-medical Sciences, with a minor in Neuroscience, at the University of Guelph. She also has a background in avian behaviour and training, as she is a lead raptor trainer at Wild Ontario, an environmental education program based at the University. She has been a part of Dr. Alexandra Harlander's team since October 2015 as a part-time research assistant, full-time summer student, and NSERC USRA recipient. Primarily, she assists graduate students with the animal training components of their experiments. During her fourth year, she undertook an undergraduate research project to investigate the microbiome-gut-brain axis of laying hens. Upon completion of her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, Isabelle hopes to begin a career as a small flock poultry veterinarian.
