I am a master’s by thesis student in the Centre for Genetic Improvement of Livestock under the supervision of Dr. Christine Baes. My project will investigate feed efficiency in pre-weaning calves as a potential trait.
I completed my B.Sc. in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science, at the University of Guelph in 2021. I’ve worked in various parts of the agriculture industry, and during my undergrad I had the opportunity to work under Dr. Christine Baes, looking at feed efficiency and its relationship to other traits, learning about correlations between traits. My current project looks to estimate genetic parameters for feed efficiency in pre-weaned calves, to investigate the feasibility of selection for the trait.
