Our Sympathies: Dr. Gordon James King
It is with sympathy that we share the passing of Dr. Gordon James King. Dr. King was a faculty member at the University of Guelph from 1968-1998 and appointed University Professor Emeritus upon his retirement. Prior to his arrival at UofG, Dr. King held positions as a public school teacher, private and field veterinarian and technical manager at the Hamilton District Cattle Breeders. Throughout his career, Dr. King made significant contributions to the field of animal reproduction having published over 150 scientific articles and authored multiple books and book chapters. He also played a integral role in with the design and execution of production oriented livestock research projects in developing countries through consulting missions with FAO, IAEA, CIDA, SIDA, the International Foundation for Science, the Canadian Association of Animal Breeders.
