Details

Welcome to the May installment of the Nutrition Seminar Series, hosted by the Centre for Nutrition Modelling (Animal Biosciences Department). Each month, we continue to deliver seminars from a different lab within the ABSC Nutrition group, and share their exciting new research in a dynamic manner.

This month we bring you “Applying Nutrition Modelling to the Equine Sector ”. The Ellis lab will discuss this new project which extends what we know and do in conventional agriculture species to benefit the equine sector.  We will present current work modelling DMI in horses, in vitro feed characterization, the development of an equine digestion and metabolism model, and how this model will benefit the sector at large.

Speakers: Dr. Jennifer Ellis, Cara Cargo-Froom (PDF), Emily Leishman (PDF), Scott Cieslar (Mad Barn, Inc)

This seminar will be hosted in ANNU room 141 (live!) and also stream online via TEAMS.

Please feel free to forward these seminar invites to industry partners or others outside the department who may be interested.
