Education

B.Sc. (Hons) - Animal Biology (University of Guelph, 2021)

M.Sc. - Animal Nutrition (University of Guelph, Coursework)

Current Academics

I am currently pursuing a M.Sc. by coursework in animal nutrition under the supervision of Dr. Trevor DeVries. I completed my B.Sc.H. at the University of Guelph, graduating from a major in Animal Biology spring of 2021. Although I am most interested in dairy cattle nutrition, I am currently conducting a trial where heifers are personality tested to assess the extent at which personality traits are passed from dam to offspring. I was first introduced hands-on to the applied research being done here at the University, including that of DeVries and his students, during my position as a summer student at University of Guelph's Elora Dairy Research Centre following my undergraduate degree.

About Me

Outside of the University, I am still working part-time at the Elora Dairy Research Centre and as a retail sales associate at a local PetValu. I was first introduced to animal agriculture by the SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major) program at Banting Memorial High School and have since had a passion for animals and sustainable farming, especially maximizing the efficiency of feeding resources through nutrition strategies while still promoting animal care and welfare. It is through my M.Sc. courses led by many notable faculty members that I hope to further my knowledge of animal biology and nutrition with a goal of entering the dairy nutrition industry upon degree completion.
