My research interests focus on the immunoregulation, immunotoxicology and immunogenetics of livestock and fish species. This includes identifying genetic markers associated with inflammatory diseases, assessing the effects of maternal stress on the developing fetal neuroendocrine-immune system, immunonutrition, and the immunotoxicity of bacterial and fungal toxin mixtures. I believe that diversity and inclusion in the classroom and laboratory foster creativity and global understanding. Thus, I am committed to providing an engaging learning environment that promotes these ideals, where all students are provided equal opportunity regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, language, abilities/disabilities, socioeconomic status, or country of origin.
