Short Biography

Lautaro Rostoll Cangiano, is a Ph.D. candidate in Dr. Michael Steele lab. He joined the Steele’s lab in 2019, and his research focuses on the effect of early life nutritional and management interventions on intestinal and immune development. His Ph.D. thesis focuses on studying the impact of antimicrobial use in calf rearing on intestinal development and microbial colonization, and the use of probiotics to improve health and reduce antimicrobial use. He hopes to use this knowledge to develop nutritional and management strategies to improve immunity in calves and reduce antimicrobial use.
