Equine Career Night – University of Guelph
[GUELPH, Ont., Jan. 24, 2019] – If you are interested in horses and possible career paths in the
equine industry, then the annual Equine Career Night is for you! Held at the University of Guelph
on March 7, 2019 between 7 and 9 PM, the Equine Career Night is organized by second- year students
in Equine Management major of the Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management degree program. This is a
fantastic opportunity for equine professionals, students, and employees          to interact, learn
from each other, and see the job opportunities in our complex industry.
With professionals displaying their business and/or profession around Peter Clark Hall in the lower
level of the University Center, attendees will be able to mingle and ask questions. If you are an
equine professional and want to participate as an exhibitor, applications are being accepted until
February 28 by emailing EQevents@uoguelph.ca.
“I hope it will help me get a sense of what I would like to do with a degree that has so many
diverse career options,” said a first-year Equine Management student who is looking forward to
attending this year, and will be helping to organize it next year.
The event is free to attend, and includes refreshments, door prizes, and a special prize for the
winner of a new passport game.
As a bonus, there is also a Used Tack Sale at the Equine Career Night! If you’re buying, there will
be everything from brushes to saddles. If you are interested in cleaning out your own tack locker,
book your booth before February 28 by emailing the same address: EQevents@uoguelph.ca or find us on
Facebook at Equine Career Night 2019.
The Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management is the only degree program in Canada with a major in Equine
Management. This unique program emphasizes the science and business skills needed in today’s equine
industry, and students get hands-on opportunities like planning the
Equine Career Night.
