Details

Dr. Joaquim Casellas, an Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, March 8th. The seminar will begin at 1:30 pm in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building.

Joaquim Casellas has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Animal and Food Science of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) since 2016. He has a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine (2001) and a Ph.D. in Animal Breeding and Genetics (2006); he has been a Research Assistant and Full Researcher in the Agrofood Research and Technology Institute of Spain, and he spent more than 18 months as a visiting scholar at the Universities of Wisconsin-Madison and California-Davis, in the USA. He has authored over 102 peer-review journal articles mainly on quantitative genetics of cattle, sheep and pigs, as well as new statistical approaches for data analysis.

 

The Centre for Genetic Improvement of Livestock welcomes all interested University of Guelph staff, faculty, students, and industry or academic collaborators to attend our CGIL Seminars, which are held on  Friday afternoons throughout the Fall and Winter semesters. The meetings are always available remotely via Fuze, for those unable to attend in person, and presentation recordings may also be available after the seminar.
