Brian Van Doormaal, General Manager of the Canadian Dairy Network, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, March 22nd. The seminar will begin at 1:30 pm in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building.
 
Brian Van Doormaal is the General Manager at the Canadian Dairy Network. Brian has over 30 years of experience in the Canadian dairy cattle improvement industry and has worked for CDN since its inception in 1995. In addition, Brian has been a member of the Genetic Evaluation Board since 1995 and the Canadian representative for the Steering Committee of Interbull since 1997. Brian has been directly involved in the implementation of genetic and genomic evaluations for various traits and he led the research and implementation of Pro$ as a scientifically sound, profit-based genetic selection index for the Canadian Dairy Industry. During his career he has co-authored over 15 peer-reviewed journal articles, more than 100 industry extension articles, as well as numerous technical publications relating to dairy cattle breeding and improvement.
 
 
The Centre for Genetic Improvement of Livestock welcomes all interested University of Guelph staff, faculty, students, and industry or academic collaborators to attend our CGIL Seminars, which are held on  Friday afternoons throughout the Fall and Winter semesters. The meetings are always available remotely via Fuze, for those unable to attend in person, and presentation recordings may also be available after the seminar.
