Shadi Nayeri has got her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science (2008) and her Master’s degree (2010) in Molecular genetics/ biochemistry in small ruminants (sheep) from Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran. She continued her education at Livestock-Gentec University of Alberta (Canada) in 2010 and completed her PhD in January 2017 under supervision of Dr. Paul Stothard. The subject of her study was in designing a new custom genotyping panel to estimate the increase in accuracy of selection for milk production and fertility traits in North American Holstein dairy cattle. During her PhD she developed her skills in statistical analysis and genome-wide association analysis (GWAS), genomic selection (GS), imputation, bioinformatics tools and functional analysis. Shadi started her work as a Postdoctoral researcher in CGIL group at the University of Guelph following her PhD defence in January 2017.

She is currently working on identifying genomic regions, genes and underlying pathways that affect β-hydroxybutyrate Concentration in Milk Using Mid-Infrared Spectroscopy in North American Holstein Cattle under the supervision of Dr. Filippo Miglior
