I have an honours bachelor’s degree in Biological Science (2012) and a Master of Science (2014) in Genetics (emphasis in Genomics and Bioinformatics) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Currently, I am a visiting Ph.D. student at the University of Guelph under a supervision of Dr. Angela Canovas, developing studies focused on the identification of genomic regions and metabolic pathways associated with reproductive traits. Originally, I am a Ph.D. student from the Genetics postgraduate program at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, also with an emphasis in Genomics and Bioinformatics, where my research field is focused in the study of genetic diversity of the Guzerá breed and reproductive traits in the Dairy-Gyr breed.
I have experience in high-density genotyping data analysis, next-generation sequencing, genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and system biology.
