Meet Niel (OAC Video)

My research interests focus on innate immunoregulation, immunotoxicology and immunogenetics. This includes identifying genetic markers associated with inflammatory diseases, assessing the effects of maternal inflammatory stress on the developing fetal neuroendocrine-immune system, assessing efficacy of immunoceuticals, and characterising the immunotoxicity of microbial toxins. I believe that diversity and inclusion in the classroom and laboratory foster creativity and global understanding.
