Before coming to the University of Guelph for undergraduate studies in animal biology, Laura completed a one-year animal care program at Sheridan  College, which fostered her interest in animal welfare and biology. Studying animal biology and neuroscience, it wasn't until her final year of B.Sc. studies that she developed an interest for research in animal behaviour and welfare.

Currently, Laura is completing a masters by coursework in animal welfare and behaviour with Dr. Harlander, investigating the effects of nutrition and diet on behavioural flexibility of broiler chickens. Beyond school, Laura enjoys hiking with Kenny, her canine companion, and spending time with family.
