This week we are happy to have Dr. Anna Kukekova, presenting for us on Friday, October 2^nd, 2026. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST on the virtual platform Microsoft Teams. The presentation title is: “Taming the Fox: Genetic, Neurobiological, and Behavioral Insights into Animal Domestication”   

Speaker Biography: Anna Kukekova is an Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Kukekova graduated from St. Petersburg State University in Russia and received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Cytology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Prior to joining the UIUC faculty in 2012, she completed postdoctoral training at the Baker Institute for Animal Health at Cornell University, where she subsequently served as a research associate and principal research scientist. Her interests span behavioral genetics, evolution of social behavior, and animal domestication.
