Crises, some thoughts: There are two kinds of crises. The first are those imposed by nature, such as earthquakes, volcanoes, tornados, etc. Such crises give me a sense of awe at the power of nature and the insignificance of everything else. The second kind are those caused or influenced by humans. These kinds of crises can usually be avoided, if humans were smart enough, respectful enough, and scientific enough. An example are the crashes of the economies in the US, Greece, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Italy. The governments in these countries should have planned accordingly many decades ago. Money markets are human inventions, not nature. Terrorists are humans that cause crises. Global warming is a human caused crisis against nature, again it could have been avoided, and should be top priority to solve in the world. The human race should be smarter to reduce the number of second kind of crises, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Very discouraging. What can be done? Change our governments, find people who have good solutions that can be implemented quickly. For example, take the debts of every country and balance them amongst one another. Suppose the US owes China amount X, China owes Australia amount Y, and Australia owes US amount Z(X>Y>Z). The amounts could be balanced among those countries. Let China receive amount X (the larger of X, Y, Z), then China pays off Australia and has X-Y leftover. Australia now has Y and it pays off US leaving Y-Z for Australia, and US receives Z from Australia. Now everyone is on the plus side. This same process could be applied to all 200+ countries if their debts are known to each other country (or company). Genetic algorithms could work out the balance for everyone.
