Tired about reading about foods that are allegedly bad for you? Here's a case of nutritional hysteria:
"Beware of carrots! Carrots will kill you! Every carrot you eat brings you nearer to death! Proof is that nearly all sick people have eaten carrots, and 99% of all those who die from cancer have eaten carrots.
Ninety-nine percent of people who die in car and air accidents ate carrots within 60 days of the accident. Not only that, but 99% of all juvenile delinquents come from homes where carrots are served regularly.
Furthermore, all carrot eaters born between 1900 & 1920 have wrinkled skin, brittle bones and failing eyesight. If the ills of eating carrots have not already caused their deaths! Even more alarming is the report by medical specialists that states that laboratory rats force-fed 20 lbs of carrots per day for 30 days developed bulging abdomens and their appetites for wholesome food foods were destroyed.
The conclusion? The way to avoid the deleterious effects of carrot eating is to change to orchid petal soup. Practically no one has ever had any problems from eating orchid petal soup."
