Biography

bird-speakerDr. Frances Bonier is an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and Adjunct with the Department of Biological Sciences at Virginia Tech. Fran’s current research focuses on understanding the causes and consequences of individual variation in responses to environmental challenges, with a focus on glucocorticoid hormones.

Fran has been attending ISAE since the 2008 meeting in Leuven (Belgium), where she won the Young Investigator Award.

Since, she has contributed tremendously to the field of avian endocrinology and, her recent data and theories will be summarized in a Plenary Lecture entitled “Correlates, causes, and consequences of individual variation in glucocorticoids.”
