Sarah graduated in the Spring of 2015 with an Honours B.Sc. in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph. Following her drive for excellence and passion for animals, Sarah has returned to the Department of Animal Biosciences to obtain a Masters degree, collaborative with toxicology. Advised by Dr. Neil Karrow and Dr. Christine Baes, Sarah's current research studies involve finding genetic markers and developing selection methods to reduce the prevalence of Johne’s Disease in dairy cattle.
During her undergraduate degree, Sarah was an Events Coordinator for the Animal Biology Student Association, volunteer for the Future Vets Club and a member of the University of Guelph Animal Interest Network. She maximized her experience by studying and working with multiple species, from companion animals to livestock. In 2014 and 2015, Sarah held a summer position with The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs with the Provincial Poultry Specialist. Her other summers were spent in sales and managing a Competitive Hunter-Jumper horse farm back home in Kingston, Ontario.
Following her undergraduate degree, Sarah took a year to work, during which she established two successful small businesses while maintaining a full-time job, further adding to her business acumen.
Outside of business and academics Sarah has a passion for fitness, music and playing with her Boston terrier pup, Zoey.
