I came to the University of Guelph in 2009 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Animal Biology and graduated five years later with that degree as well as a minor in nutritional sciences. I had originally planned on going to vet school, but during my undergrad I took a course, Experiments in Animal Biology, that opened me up to a whole new world of animal-related careers. After conducting my first study with the piglets at Arkell I was hooked.

I then took two years off to work and volunteer in different labs. During that time I made the decision to come back and get my masters in coursework with Tina Widowski. My research will involve testing the epigenetic effects of stress on spatial learning & working memory in the offspring of laying hens.
