Ana Lucia has a bachelor`s degree (2007) and a Master of Science (2009) in Animal Science; and a Ph.D. in Genetics and Animal Breeding (2012) from Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil. The title of her thesis was 'Influence of CSN1S1, DGAT1 and GH genes on the production and composition of goats' milk'. She works as a professor at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro since 2012 and has experience in the area of animal science, with emphasis on genetics and animal breeding. In August / 2017, she started a post-doctoral internship under the supervision of Prof. Flávio Schenkel at The Center for Genetic Improvement of Livestock (CGIL) at The University of Guelph, Canada.
